papthegreek's Journal, 23 November 2009

I have been sticking fast to my 5-6 meals a day, and have spent a lot of time learning why diets have failed for me in the past.

I started how the first two weeks losing 10 lbs, but learned that that is just too fast! If you lose fat, at best you'll only lose 2-3 lbs a week. If you're losing more than that, it's likely water weight and (worse) muscle. :(

I found the main reason for the loss was I just wasn't eating enough calories. I was hovering around 1500/day, but as a man I should be no less than 1800/day at the very least. I've set a new goal around 2000-2100/day.

This diet is no longer a diet. It's a lifestyle change which I can maintain forever! I gained a little this week, but I feel even more confident that I will hit my goal. It may not be 20 lbs by the new year, but it will be weight lost the RIGHT WAY.

Good luck to everyone with your goals!
