first week was fairly straightforward. i figured i'd lose a fair amount since i was no longer eating junk for every single meal and washing it down with a giant soda ;P that being said i find it easier to just use the fitbit app to track my intake and log my steps and exercise, so if you'd like to add me there let me know!

my goals for this upcoming week are:
-continue sticking to meal prep and healthy options if i do have to eat out.
-increase water intake from 2-4 to 3-5 cups a day.
-one treat meal this week(did not allow myself one last week and am currently having a whole day to eat whatever i want!)
-more self care. taking care of my body includes loving it as it is now, and while i do that i have a long way to go toward fully accepting it.
-clean my bathroom. not necessarily a health goal but lord, it needs it.
-begin a light workout regimen, like some yoga or walking around the apartment complex.

we'll see what week two brings!

I love your realistic goals. Let me offer you a couple tips to help you. Buy a 1 liter bottle of water. And keep refilling it. Drink 2 of those a day. I drink 3 to 3.5 liters a day. WALKING IS A#1 for getting the metabolism moving. Not even fast walking. Just walking. Try to walk at least an hour a day if you can. I know treat(CHEAT) Meals sound and feel good. But you are only sabotaging yourself. 1 Meal can really throw you out of whack. We are always just 1 meal away from failure it seems. What type of diet are ya doing if you don't mind me asking?

You need a group! Neon Hairz Peeples! I'm hoping to join soon...I've been wanting a specific color for a long time now. I've promised myself I can do it after I've hit a specific major goal and held it for a couple weeks.

Lol sweeeet! What color are you going for Vickie? I plan to do aqua next, but I'm not switching from pink until I lose a good amount of weight and actually want people to see me in public. Lol #struggles

The next color is gonna be the green of the FS DOWN arrow...maybe a little more neon-y. I luuuuve your pink and Diana's too. Totally different shades but they look perfect on both of you!

oh man i came back from a workout and everyone on fs commented haha! okay lemme go in order: @knuckles: thanks for the advice! i do carry a water bottle around but i think i need a bigger one, i finish this 24oz one too quickly and i don't get a lot of time at work to refill it(i work in a hair salon and i have to go next door to get some!) and as for the cheat meals, i know my body and current willpower well enough to know that my problem is eating nothing but junk food all the time. i know right now that one meal isn't going to hurt me and will keep me from feeling completely deprived! if i feel as though that'll change during the week then i just won't do it, easy as. i'm not really doing a set diet at the moment, just trying to add more whole foods into my life and building up towards a set workout! thanks for the comment, much love. @Chritsinemeowk: yas girl! i'm all down for that. @Vickie: yes! i'm a hairstylist and fashion colors are what i love about my work. i love green and i'm about to take my roommate to emerald green! eventually i want to go mint green but i'll probably do lilac-y, lavender colored hair first. @Misty: Pilates has never really interested me and i'm looking to build up slowly to a set exercise regimen, thank you for the suggestion though!

What color should I do my hair, ladies? Maybe I could play drums for a group like the B-52's. I have been watching video's of Devo lately, and I have seen the B-52's a lot of times. How often do you completely change your hair color? I taught HS so I saw all kinds of fashion statements.

Ahhh... yes Warren..you should totally do red fading to orange with yellow tips then spike it up so it looks like fire!!! 🔥😁👍 I've been just about every normie shade and spent most of my life with various shades of red. About a year ago I decided I wanted to try bolder colors and figured I better get it done before I'm too old and lame to do so. (My kid already thinks I'm there) I don't want to be on my death bed wondering what I'd look like with such and such hair color, so I'm working my way through various shades. I started with lemon-y yellow. Then orange-y orange. Then a few months of purple, and I've been pink since July. Pink is definitely my favorite so far. It feels super Christine-y! Lol

Ohhhhhh....I like the sound of the red fade to orange/flame! Christine, FWIW you're never too old to be a leeeeetle crazy. I started doing bold colors when I was in my early 50s...I'll be 60 in a week and plan to continue as long as I have hair ;-) It's fun being this short little middle aged woman with wacky hair. I think it makes you a little less "middle aged". I always had strangers complimenting me and never once had anything derogatory said. I have stopped for a while because I was swimming a lot more and the chlorine was brutal on the color even with a swim cap! Probably when I do it again it will be closer to winter when I don't swim a lot.

You are my kind of lady. Crazy as hell. I know, I would see spiked hair a lot at school. HS was such a total trip, as every kid is into something different. My last 10 years I taught Independent Study. You know that was interesting. The kids loved me to death. I actually taught creative writing. I really should write a book about my 36 years in teaching.

That's awesome Vickie. I'm 37 now and my teenage daughter is in that phase where everything I do is the most embarrassing thing ever to her. I put extra effort in to make public excursions awkward because of it. It's my duty as a mom! Lol

Warren you definitely sound like you were one cool ass real down to earth teacher. That's a rare gem. Most of the teachers in our school couldn't get on our level and be relatable, but there was always one each year that magically knew what was up. Kudos

You know actually, coloring hair and making it look good is actually kind of sexy. In Vegas you see gorgeous women with colored hair all the time. I think women just like to color hair, period.

Well thanks, I got into teaching because I love people. My last 10 years I really focused on building up crushed self esteems. It is amazing what someone can do for a person. I was really in a position to help kids in Independent Study. I really made huge difference in kids lives, which naturally is very self rewarding. So I have observed your situation Christine. What do you believe is your main problem with weight? Compulsive eating?

Wow, you are 6 feet tall. My sister was 5' 10" tall. That is so cool. I love being 6'7" tall. You are pretty, and I'm sure you would like to get to a good place.
