OMG I am so frustrated. EVERYONE MAKES MESSES IN THIS HOUSE AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO PICKS UP! How do working moms do it. I am a sahm and there is never enough time to get it all done. Man I feel taken for granted and under appreciated.

As a working Mom I can tell you that it is Hard to Impossible to have a clean house during the week! I too live with folks who leave a wake of messes in their path. My husband seems to have no idea that shoes belong in the closet not the living room floor. I guess that he thinks they just magically move to his closet. My 18 year old daughter is worse than a small child, she leaves clothes and trash all around her room & bathroom. I have to take her cell phone away to get the room cleaned up. Last time I made her clean the room, I went into her room to hang up clothing & found everything had just been shoved into the closet. Then she had the nerve to try and tell me that the closet was not part of the room. Of course that didn't fly. Mean Mom kept the phone for 24 hours till the room passed inspection.

Well I am not a mom but do live in a house similar to this.. and i quit doing everything... not even joking it was gross and I was embarassed to live there but soon ppl took the hint to maybe help... infact just recently my mom got a text from my brother and it said "can you tell pix to do the dishes its not fair that I have to do them all the time." yeah.... well I lost my shit because for the last 4 years I have done EVERYTHING from laundry to dishes to cleaning to mowing grass and shoveling snow.. and he has to do the dishes every day for the last month and he told on me... we are 28 (almost 29) and 26(will be 27 in March)... if its kids rooms... pull the door shut and pretend it doesn't exist... and when it spills into the hall way throw it away no matter what it is...eventually your kids will take the hint - trust me its what my mom did when I was younger... it took her throwing one thing away for me to get the hint lol

OMG! Let me tell you! I have the same complaint. I'm a working mom and I can tell you my house is a sty most of the time. We try to keep up with things - was the dishes after dinner, make the kids pick up for the last 15 minutes before bedtime, but that only works for so much. Now that my kids are getting older, they have chores to do, but often they run out of time and they don't get done. When I make them do the chores on the weekends - they are always complaining that they have to do EVERYTHING around here! Can you believe it??? They are deranged! If we have a busy weekend, my house can go weeks without being really cleaned. It gets bad sometimes, but not much we can do about it. I'd rather spend time with my kids/friends/family doing fun stuff than getting all uptight about how my house looks. I've heard that 5 minutes in the am and 5 minutes in the pm will keep it from getting out of hand, but don't know for sure, because it doesn't happen on a regular enough basis to find out.

Tglenna, my aunt tells me that a happy home is a messy home... so I try to live by that rule lol I would rather my place looked like someone lived in it than like a hosptial!
