OK, here we go again. After having a successful weight loss a few years back, I got too comfortable and completely forgot all of the food and alcohol rules. I can not eat and drink like I did when I was in my 20's....mindless calorie consumption all day long. To make matters worse, I now work from home much of the time, which means I am even more sedentary than ever. But I am also bigger than ever (174 lbs at the biggest) and it is affecting my back problems more than anything. And I'm always exhausted. So for the last week I have really been concentrating. I'm wearing a FitBit, which is tremendous help to let me know how much or how little I am moving. And I am tracking my food, which is definitely an eye opener. Apparently I need to stop at two Taco Bell tacos. :) So this week, I haven't been following any particular diet, just eating well and eating clean, fresh foods, making sure I log them so I know my intake, and then making sure I burn more calories than I consume. And I think I've lost about 7 pounds in 2-3 weeks. That is just the encouragement I needed. Once I see that scale start going down, I am very reluctant to do anything to lose that progress. So I'm back, Fat Secret Community, and I'm chatty, so let's get going!

You lucky! I tried for years to lose some weight (actually a lot of weight!) and even if I tried all the ways: diets, low carb food, low protein food, sport, workout without any results.. I already had my fist conversation with Placidway, an amazing company that helped me find some affordable packages abroad.. so my last chance is gastric sleeve

I've tried all that too, Dave, and it works, but I just can't maintain that long term so I end up gaining back. I love bread and grains and honestly, my body needs whole grains for the fiber benefits, so I bought a bread machine so I can make my own healthy, high fiber breads and control the portions. Even with gastric sleeve, you have to change your mindset or you will be right back where you are now. My brother had it done, went through all the agony of surgery recovery and adjusting to the sleeve, only to gradually get back to his bad overeating habits and he's right back where he was before surgery. Maybe a nutritional counselor or even a behavioral therapist would be a better use of your money, because once you change what's going on in your head, you can change your body. If you don't chance your mindset, nothing else will work. So let's keep supporting each other!

Hey Feisty, sounds like you're off to a good start. Keep it up! I've found that by nixing the bread/grains for a long time, I am now completely intolerant of all things bread-y. I love bread, but it doesn't love me. (In fact, I think it loathes me- after that last episode.) There's lots of good fibre to be found in cruciferous veggies- like broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, etc. And avocados. I LOVE avocados. =) Even whole apples, when you are at a point that you can tolerate the natural sugars. Try going on Pintrest to find some lo-carb food options. There are some unbelieveble, delicious recipes on there!

I've done low carb before and it just doesn't work for me.
