Another 8 days since my last weigh in. To my surprize and joy, I am down another 4.6 pounds. Last weight loss was just over one pound. I still ahdere that although I think that I am in charge, as far as controlling caloric intake, I know that my body takes over when certain benchmarks are below its standard of how it is running my body most healthily. That sounds a bit weird, but surely you've heard folks say that you have to listen to your body. People, I'm letting my body 'take the wheel', so to speak. My conscious responsibility is to eat a varied diet, fluctuate my intake of calories, but all at a deficit of my RDI. Honestly, I haven't eaten over my RDI since September 9th, but one time I think. I do this by having switched my foodstuffs to less calorie options - no fat cottage cheese, almond milk, I can't believe it's not butter light! whipped cream cheese, shiritaki noodles (which are tolerable, but not a convincing pasta substitute, but you CAN eat to your fill without worry). Trying to eat more fish, chicken and lean pork, but I will indulge in the succulent treat of deep fried buffalo chicken wings - skin and all. As I have written previously, my normal diet, by my own strong conviction's of what I still believe to be most healthy is: pure butter, olive oil, eggs, meats and animal fats in appropriate proportion, fermented raw dairy products, which means raw cheeses and raw milk (good if you can get it fresh and clean). Yoghurt, kefir and yes beer, wine and other distilled products, again in appropriate proportions. Yes and of YES plenty of vegetables of all sorts. My favorite grain is oat. Fruits are a treat. Apart from apples and berries, my intake of other fruit is limited, but I do indulge in a lot of citrus, pineapple and other exotics when here on the island. (SW FL) Since I am on a sort of sebatical from my awesome husband, having been apart (due only to a logistical glitch where we found ourselves needing to host family simultaneously at two of our homes at the same time AND because of an unfinished real estate project that my husband is finishing up, I have about a month) on my own. This never happens and to be sure we are the proverbial 'couple', doing everything together, from housekeeping, to renovating vintage homes. Most recently taking on this new regimen. In my solitaire, I have found eating to the regimen incredibly do-able. What has been hard is learning how to dial down the amount of food that I purchase. I stopped drinking coffee and using artificial sweetened products for about two weeks now, since I had a bout of painful stomach acid. Some say it was due to the cola and coffee in sudden large amounts and I agreed that I had been hydrating with a lot of iced coffee and diet coke. I am back drinking my morning coffee alotment and steering wide of the artificially sweetened foods, like yoghurts and such. Again my body telling asking me and screeching, "what is going on? What are you trying to do to me? What are all these sudden chemicals coming in when all I want is some nice fresh water??".. Ha ha In addition to my altering exercising between swimming, walking and garden work, I have taken up yoga for the first time and I LOVE it! I can't believe that I haven't done it until now. It is a balm to my whole being and I recommend it to everyone. Mind you I am just a beginner and doing very low impact stretches and balancing exercises. Definitely using muscles and skills that have been a long time dormant. I feel the soreness, so I know that although the class is so gentle and enjoyable, I am doing some subliminal hardcore training. Well enough for now. Going to make a beef brisket for some guests that will come for Sunday dinner tomorrow. Love that fat secret let's me make a plan of caloric attack for my meal. And as always, my conscious contribution to this regimen is to keep moving and to eat appropriate and balanced portions, while I enjoy the company.
