well decided what to cook for tea: Beef Stroganoff. Just bought a new book, Called - Without the Calories - its normal dishes just with a few changes, nothing dramatic. The beef strog has 222 calories per serving, takes 10 mins to prep and 20 mins to cook, so fingers crossed. It wasn't a bad buy got it in TESCO whilst I was waiting for my flight, got it at half price so a bit of a result. I will let you know what it tastes like (that's the beef strog not the book) tomorrow I will let you know what its like.

Love a beef stroganoff! Though I must admit, when I make it I go for the full calorie version.......

tasted lovely. 2 x 200gms rump steak cut into 5 millimetre strips, brown off in 1/2 teaspoon of oil, take out of pan. Thinly slice 2 onions and 250 grams of chestnut mushrooms, fry off in 1/2 teaspoon pf oil, after a few minutes add 1 teaspoon of paprika (not smoked paprika) and 300 millilitres beef stock, simmer for 5 minutes, add the strip of beef and 3 tablespoons of 1/2 fat crème fraiche. Put on tagaitelli, pasta or mashed potatoes. Enjoy. 220 calories plus the calories of pasta or potatoes

Sounds yummy good idea using the crème fraiche - thinking you could also use this on fried mushrooms for a creamy sauce for the rump steak if you didn't want to cut it up....need to buy steak....

Ha Ha sounds ilke your taste buds are rumbling. good idea for a mushroom sauce. The beauty of crème fraiche is that you can get half fat version. If you don't like crème fraiche you can use sour cream, you could always make your own sour cream just cream and white vinegar but I don't know if it would work with at reduced cream

It would work with reduced cream I imagine. I use milk to make mine. Gold top. Any other type of milk doesn't work. My mum used to put evaporated milk into it. I guess everyone has their own perfect recipe.
