Jenny O's Journal, 24 September 2015

I took a Blue Cross Blue Shield health survey yesterday and was surprised I had a somewhat low score. I consider myself fairly healthy, I work out regularly, I am almost to my healthy BMI range. But it was the mental health area I needed to work out. Reducing stress, taking more "me time". One of things they suggested was journalling. So I thought I would give this a shot and try journalling every day. Okay, let's be real, I am probably not going to do it every day, but I'm going to try. I used to write in a diary and I always write in a journal when we go on our angel trips (a non profit organization I run called The Traveling Angels - cleans up and rebuilds after natural disasters). It is therapeutic and fun to go back and read years later. Things you have forgotten about that make you smile or laugh.

So how am I feeling today. Fairly good. Tuesday I got into a knock down drag out fight with one of my co workers aand friends. It wasn't pretty. It left me feeling very depressed and hurt. But I was proud of two things about it, #1, I spoke my mind - even though she said I was passive aggressive, I know I am sometimes, but I was trying to resolve the issue, so didn't know where that came from, but never the less, I digress. #2 I was proud I didn't go and over eat. In fact, I stayed within my points, maybe was one over. I went for a walk/run that night even though the people I was supposed to go with never showed up. And I also talked to my husband about some money issues we are having, so was happy about all that. Baby steps. I also took a nice long bubble bath and then sat outside on the deck and looked at the moon and the way it was shining looked like a cross over it. Like God was saying, "Just trust me, it's going to be okay".

What I did right today - I got up and did Yoga Inferno. I have a walk planned tonight with my friend. I ate a healthy lunch and breakfast. I have forgiven my friend for hurting me.

I hope you all are having a good day today too.
