I'm going to l & d hospital this afternoon to get weighed at the obesity clinic.my gp wants me to have weight loss surgery but I don't want to since being told that I'd have to stop binge eating first.I figured that this isn't happening 100% and I don't want to risk bursting my insides if I relapse!!
So I'm trying to lose the weight the old fashioned weight (again !) And counselling.watch this space!!☺

I guess you have to figure out why you need to binge eat sometimes. Hopefully the counsellor will be able to help you understand why and give you some coping strategies. I don't have experience of binge eating, sure I go through times when I overeat, but my weight gains tend to be over a long time. If you try to keep to a healthy diet, after 2 or 3 weeks you may find that you don't want to overeat. I hope everything goes well for you this afternoon.

my advice would be (if you havnt already) is to keep a food diary over a week. Write down exactly what you eat and drink, don't forget to add stuff like milk and sugar in your drinks (its amazing how many people forget that), the time you had I, what you are doing and how felt before you eat. This might show up ant particular time or trend. Every time you feel like snacking try a little activity, nothing silly, just for a few minutes things like walking on the spot, this will help produce endorphins which may help reduce the craving

Well I went to the obesity clinic yesterday and........ I lost 2 kilograms😯 The dietician said to keep going and the weight loss will follow but it was pretty demoralising.😡

2lb is 2lb its better than 1lb so think of is as a positive, a loss is a loss now matter how big or small so there is no need to feel demoralized well done it all starts somewhere

That's great! 2kg is quite a lot actually. Don't think of it as being demoralising, because it's not. Use this loss to motivate yourself into doing just as well or even better next time you have a weigh-in.

I'm really happy to hear that you've lost 2kg! If you get bored with some types of food you can substitute something with similar calories, nutrients etc. Stay positive, that's the main thing!

I did some chair exercises today ! y eldest son gave me a pep talk on the pone yesterday and made me realise that I needed to stop looking at my disability as an excuse to be so immobile and make an effort to work around it ! so... I tried a class on youtube and it was really good, half an hour sped by.It was aimed at obese immobile people so was just right for me as I didn't need to stand.(just as well as I'd have fallen over !!)

Your son is right. It's so easy (and in some cases understandable) for people with some sort of physical problem to use it as an excuse not to exercise when, in fact, there are many different ways of exercising. It sounds like you had fun with the youtube class!
