Lovely01's Journal, 29 August 2015

Last week I was 203 today 208. I been walking 3 times a week for about hour and gain weight. The week before I did nothing and lost.

I feel so hopeless. Like everything I try to do I lose at. I don't know how to get back on track anymore. I use to a very happy person. More importantly my faith was unshakable. Now I just don't know anymore.

I feel cursed wondering why. why do good people get hurt if we serve a good god.
208.0 lb Lost so far: 17.0 lb.    Still to go: 28.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.0 lb a week

That's so frustrating. I have been there so many times. Just try to keep up the good habits.

Muscle weighs more than fat. A lot of times we gain after awhile but we lose inches. If your clothes are getting bigger despite the numbers going up, don't despair. You're still going in the right direction.

I know how that is and it sucks, BUT, keep at it and eventually the work will pay off. Everything from hormones, to medications, to water, to sodium intake, to the weather can affect the scale. It's frustrating, but another time the scale will take a wild jump downwards.

Hi Lovely01. Losing weight isn't tricky, it's only a matter of keeping strict journal of what and how much you eat. I noticed your diet calendar is incomplete. There's a radio button at the bottom of each day's journal that you should 'tick' for the days that you actually kept track of everything. This way, the community can have an accurate picture of your diet. As far as being more active yet gaining weight -- as some have already said, you could have gained muscle. It's CRITICAL when dieting and exercising, that you keep track of more than weight, as this example illustrates. If you kept track of % bodyfat, waist, hip, arm, neck, thigh, then you will see those numbers go down consistently if you are doing the right thing, whereas weight in lbs will fluctuate with body hydration and gaining or losing lean muscle or fat. Hope my response helps. Just remember focus on one day at a time, and there are absolutely no trick to this -- just math.

These things take time. Walking won't do. You should also do some jogging. Just remember to be in a caloric deficit. Watch what you eat. For you, stay between 1400 and 1500 calories daily. Increase the protein and lower the carbs. When your calories are way too low, your body reacts and won't burn fat. You need to do it slowly. Drink a gallon of water daily. Don't give up. It's all on you.
