Illdill's Journal, 02 July 2015

So I read here (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/topicoftheweek34.htm) that I shouldn't do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach. It says there will be muscle degradation due to protien breakdown. But my calves are rocking, more bulky and defined than they have ever been.

I do not feel hungry, and have energy to go until 11ish (waking up at 8). Does anyone else have a similiar experience or information regarding this?

I'm starting an intense weight-lifting routine next week and have been researching how I should fit my (usually daily) cardio (3 mile run) into the routine.

On a humerous note, yesterday I was starting my run and my Gear-S watch would not pick up the GPS signal. I was going through the settings and swiped the wrong way and got to recommendations and it said 'Take a rest day'. LOL, that's funny. No rest for the wicked.

There is always going to be different opinions and info out there. Do the cardio when it fits in to your day so you keep doing it.

There's definitely no issue with sticking to it. My concern is the muscle degradation. But it looks like I don't have to worry about that since my run is only three miles and I only run at like half capacity. And as I suspected, reading further through the article, they recommended doing cardio on non-lifting days. So I think I will go with that for now. Thanks Suzi161.

You probably aren't needing to shed weight if you are running 3 miles a day, so I don't know if this applies to you. I have read that you need to eat something in the morning, even if you aren't hungry. It doesn't have to be a meal. I normally eat a banana first thing. This kick starts your metabolism for the day. Then keep your metabolism running high by eating several small meals/ healthy snacks every few hours. Hope this helps.
