Weight watchers is just a calorie control program. You can do that on your own and eat what you want. But it's about what is convenient and fits your life. If weight watchers is convenient, affordable and what you like then go for it!

Yes, it's a great plan. They emphasize lean protein, lean dairy and fruits and veggies. I like weighing in at the center because it holds me accountable. It's not so easy on our own sometimes. I can eat out and still lose weight. Some great sites with points and recipes: emilybites.com, skinnytaste.com, laaloosh.com

Thank you for the welcome! I am only still in my first week and weigh in on Monday. I tried doing it by myself but without success. Like Suzi161, It is the weigh that is keeping me accountable it seems. I feel excited about my end of week 1 weigh in!
