I am doing more exercises, eating a bit better but I stay at the same weight or gain some. I am not sure if I am retaining more water or building muscle mass but I wish I could see the change in the scale! I am going to cut down on the salt and cut my portions and see if if helps any.

Hi, Maria. Are your ankles, fingers or legs swollen (especially at night)? That could be a sign of water retention. Are you still on prednisone? That will cause water retention and takes a while to pass. Otherwise it could very well be muscle, which does weigh more than fat, but it will even out in no time. Keep going!

Horseshu1, I am actually not on prednisone but yes sometimes my ankle swell at night. You are probably right that it may be due to water retention or muscle mass. I asked a doctor one time about swollen ankles and he said it could be due to too much salt or a circulation issue. I will continue work hard on staying active. Thanks

Here's a hint from someone who spends a lot of time riding around in a car. Move your legs while listening to music. I call it car dancing but you can drive it in a chair or on the sofa. It keeps the circulation going and may burn a few calories we aren't tracking lol.
