Help, fat finger ring stuck!
So I have to get my ring off before surgery, the thing is it went on 30ish kgs ago or 66lbs. Getting it cut off is not an option my husband had it custom made and the band is almost 4mm thick. So how do I dehydrate myself enough to get it off, it was freezing the other night so i put my hand up out side for 10 odd minutes then slathered up my finger with dish was but it only got as far as my knuckle then my finger went red/blue and I had to stop as my cross fit class was going to start. I tried that string wrap around my finger but it just ripped out the hairs on my knuckles and made it swell. Any tips would be awesome folks!!

Google remove stuck ring with a string. I saw it on TV or YouTube demonstrated by a jeweler.

I did try that but I only managed to rip the hairs out of my knuckles and end up with a swollen scabbie finger. I am going to try drinking wine with my friends then trying when hung over and dehydrated.

try soaking hand in warm water and olive oil or baby oil for about 30 min or so my ring got stuck when my finger got jammed that's how I got it off.

windex window cleaner and would soak in ice first

I used dental tape (the wide dental floss) for the string thing and it worked. Its stronger than string and more slippery and not as thick.

I had a ring stuck on my finger for 6 months and I tried and tried all methods including the floss/string thing, nothing seemed to work. But one day I decided to try the string thing again and it actually worked. You have to make sure the string is tight though. I wish you luck on getting it off.
