meohmy125's Journal, 16 April 2015

So, this is Day 3 of 14/28. Day 3 of 14 being on Dr. Oz's 2-Week Rapid Weight-Loss Plan and Day 3 of 28 on the No Junkfood, Sweets, or Fast-food Challenge (which includes no bread).

I'm so glad I've been following them and haven't caved in. My cravings are relatively gone. My taste-buds have changed to want more healthy, easy-to-digest foods rather than so much junk.

I've haven't really been able to do cardio because of my lack of sleep, but I do clean around the house. I also think I feel tired a lot because of the decrease of carbs and dairy. I was reading upon glycemic levels of foods and came across this website: Glycemic Index and it started to talk about the negative effects of being on a low-carb diet. They are very good arguments and I have to say my body does feel neglected. I'm trying to make sure to listen to my body more and to know how to not overeat. So, I looked up the hunger scale and came across the beautiful picture and a helpful website: The Hunger Scale for Weight Loss.

The reason I started this diet and challenge was to help my weight loss plateau and my cravings. But, I feel like my body is feeling way too tired to even go throughout the day. My body is telling me I'm low on fuel. Even though I am eating enough, I still feel light-headed with a headache and so tired/confused. Therefore, I believe I should listen to my body more and concentrate a little less on the strict guidelines. I will mainly stick to them, but every now and then probably treating myself here and there. I feel like I was losing weight better before because I still had enough energy to exercise and go throughout the day.

I've experienced tiredness during the first week or so, but hang in, there's relief ahead. Once my body has adjusted my energy has returned. A cup of broth helps (plus it seems soothing psychologically), and it generally helps with the headache as well. Let us know how it goes!

I looked at this diet and it is very sensible. You may feel flu like symptoms for a while as your body adjusts insulin levels and starts to burn fat. Hopefully you will see a big change soon. I also drink a cup of broth or even some green tea to level my system out. Hang in there!

I couldn't do the low carb diets because a huge part of my diet is fruits and veggies. The crest s dairy (carbs there) and protein. I have the energy to walk 12 miles so it must work for me.

Thanks Horseshu! Yes, I try to have a cup of green tea with lemon juice everyday and it seems to help. @Msbuggirl My diet is also mostly fruit and veggies. I do eat a lot of carbs, but more complex/low-glycemic ones.

But I felt like since I'm not eating breads/rice/pasta (which usually makes me feel energized) that it was causing me to feel so tired.
