ElleKay65's Journal, 24 June 2011

At my heaviest, I weighed 205#. I got down to 170# and stayed there for about a year. It was great to go from a size 16 approaching 18 to a size 10, sometimes 8. This morning a freshly washed pair of 12s was hard to zip. I'm back up to 192#. I always said that if I got the weight off I'd never gain it back, but that's exactly what I'm doing. I see it happening, but it's like watching a train wreck. I feel powerless to stop it, and in a way, I'm not sure I want to or even know how.

ElleKay65, Don't dismiss your wonderful weight loss just because it's in the past. You CAN stop it! I can't say I'm speaking from experience, but I'm in the process of stopping and reversing it for myself. I've been fortunate to stay under the 180# mark, but no doubt I'm shorter than you since I'm between a size 14 & 16 right now as of today's weight-in at 175. Since I've gotten serious with tracking my food & exercise w/FS, I'm much more conscious of what I'm eating/doing, and I believe that is helping. Now that I have the app on my phone, it's even easier too (before that I couldn't keep my FS acct updated and lost interest). For me the key to starting to see any movement in the scale (as well as firming up some of the 'jiggle') was exercise. And not much at all, honestly. Hang in there and start documenting on FS. And hopefully the 1914 challenge helps give you some encouragement, and progress. :) You can do it! :)

ElleKay65 - your story is similar to my goal! I am new to FS and hope this makes a difference for me. I've already started working with a trainer and using FS as a tool should help me as well. If I can do it, you can do it again!!!! Don't give up!
