I'm not sure I did as well as I'm capable of these last two weeks, but I did weight in yesterday at 299! Felt real good not seeing a "3" in that first column for the first time in a while! One of my challenges has been the weather, but for different reasons than most.

I'm a high school teacher and my main challenge is staying on top of my eating habits when school isn't in session. We've had a couple snow days and delayed starts due to snow these last couple weeks. I get bored easily and sometimes getting up to grab something to eat or make some food counts as something to do! Also, the YMCA I workout at is right across the street from my school, so if school isn't in session I don't make the Y either. Just another challenge to overcome and cleaning up my eating habits has helped keep me in check on these days...at least a little bit! Thoughts and prayers with everyone who is attempting to lose weight and overcome the struggles that can go with it.

I teach high school too. I think the most important thing to get your eating and water intake levels under control first and then only after you have those well in hand exercise. Other things interfere with your well made plans, just stick to it and you can do it. Good Job so far.

I am a former (retired) teacher and principal and know all too well the challenges that teachers face when trying to lose weight. It is difficult to run to the bathroom when Mother Nature calls and there is never a real time to sit down and enjoy your well-planned out lunch. Too often, we get in the habit of spreading our lunch out over five minute breaks all day....this led me to believe that "grazing" was a way of eating. As far as exercise, it was the last thing that I wanted to do at the end of the day....errands to run, evening meal to prepare, children to help at home, you name it I had an excuse. I finally had to get up early in the morning and take that walk...rain or shine or snow (I lived in Chicago area then) before starting my day. I agree with Auroragrimm that getting the eating and water down are important and if you have the opportunity to exercise go for it but the correct eating and water consumption must be achieved. You have been preparing lesson plans for years....treat this like a lesson plan. Establish your objective and write down how you are going to achieve it. And as with lesson plans, when this doesn't work, what do I do? Congrats on breaking the 300 mark....you are on your way.
