Hi everyone, I'm new to this and very excited meeting all of you and get support from people understanding my frustration!
I'm 36 years of age, turning 37 in May. I've been struggling with my weight since I was in grade 7. ( standard 5 ). Dieting were always a part of our household while growing up as my mom struggled with her weight also and still are. So it runs in the family :-)
I tried every single diet on the market. From sureslim, weighless, high protein diets, pills, shakes, you name it. The two diets that worked for me were Sureslim ( 2000 ) and Weighless ( 2005 )But the thing is that I know the diets so well because I've been repeating it a 1000 times since then, I know all the cheats and that doesn't help at all. I need to loose 17 kg. I Feel bad about myself and feel like a nothing. It has a huge effect on my marriage when it comes to intimacy as I don't allow my husband touching me. Well, I had enough.
So Monday I had a complete meltdown. Cried the whole day through. Luckily I had a pre booked doctors appointment to check my blood pressure as I'm having continuous headaches for the last 2 weeks. So it came out that my blood pressure is dead normal and that my headaches are due to stress. Stress about my weight. So I spoke to the doctor and she agreed to prescribe 3 months Duromine. So yesterday were my first day and I must admit that it helped a lot. This is seriously my last attempt. I know that I will probably gain it all back if I don't watch what I eat after the 3 months but I am sure some of you will agree that one feels that you will worry about that then. For now, I just need to loose the 17kg. I am with this group to get support cause I still need it and need to make healthy choices. I need to get thin.... I NEED ALL OF YOU. Thanks
