I'm typing this on a fairly tiny phone screen because my computer is out of action so forgive any typos please. :) I've been gone from fs for a couple of years and started again this January. I just never seemed to remember when I was online and the phone App was helpful in some ways but not for keeping in touch.
My weight has stayed consistently within about 8 -10lbs of 150. Over I should say not under.....and the few times it did drop under that magic number it never continued to go down. I kept track but didn't post it here because it wasn't my lowest weight. Silly I know.
Then two days before Christmas 2014 I caught one of those wonderful bugs going around and was sick for 10+ days. Still eating but not really tasting all the good food I had cooked. That meant no second helpings which is something I only did at Thanksgiving or Christmas anyway. My weight started dropping. Yes I was eating so my first feeling was confusion plain and simple. It still is really because I had been stuck for so long. I've lost 10lbs since then. It has been slow but consistent.
Around the time I started feeling better a dental appointment required the surprise pulling of a tooth. That meant soup and soft food. That was 3 weeks ago. Some problems meant yesterday was the first day without soup as part of my meal. I've been adding olive oil to heated soup as a way to get more good fats in my diet.
No it hasn't been the way to lose weight but really I ate until I was almost full and am still a little confused as to why now.
I do know that lately sweet things are just too much. For the most part even the smell turns my stomach. My husband brought a heavily iced packaged "sweet roll" home from a meeting and it was awful! It went right back out the door! My one small treat had been a peppermint patty with coffee and today even THAT was tossed! That does bum me out.
I think I'm going to continue with some kind of soup each day. Even when I had canned soup I added frozen quick cooking veggies or shredded veggies from the fridge to my bowl. I may or may not start my food journal back up. We'll see. All I can say is don't give up even if it takes awhile to lose.
