Hello? Is this thing on? :)

A friend of mine told me about this site and thought it might give me the support I need....I've been working out in the gym since October 2010. (Main reason, I've joined a volleyball team at my local YMCA.) My strength has increased, yet my round belly stays the same. I eat when I'm truly hungry and I don't binge. I choose healthy snacks and I try to stay pretty active. However, I've pushed myself harder in the gym and changed my eating habits, but my weight stays the same and my belly fat is still there. When I become very discouraged, I stop going to the gym for at least 2 weeks before I kick myself and get back in there. I get a little tired of people telling me, "Don't worry about the weight. You'll see a difference in the way your clothes fit." It has been almost 7 months now and my size is still the same...LARGE! I've never journaled about my weight before, let alone publicly. I trust my friend, and if she thought this site could give me some encouragment, then I'll give it try. I need all the support I can get, and I hope I can give it just the same. - RB

I went to the gym for a year, a whole YEAR and lost not one pound! I was doing much the same as you are. I've recently lost almost 50 pound and I've not been in the gym once! I've found that writing down what I eat and keeping a tally really helps. I thought I was eating pretty good, not over eating, not overly bad for you stuff, ate when I was hungry (maybe twice a day)....didn't work. Now I eat AT LEAST 3 times a day and write it all down. I've gotten into a routine with eating and it helps. It doesn't matter how much or how hard you push your body if you simply aren't giving it the right fuel.
