Wow...this is so awful! I feel discouraged and defeated. It didn't take much to throw me off track and gaining back weight. It is hard to believe that I have been so diligent about this effort only to have it feel meaningless at this point. I don't even know if I should try and go back to the South Beach (modified Atkins) that has worked before, or to try something else. All I know is that I cannot continue in this weight gain spiral or I will be back up to 200 pounds in no time. Ugh!!
177.0 lb Lost so far: 28.0 lb.    Still to go: 27.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 1.0 lb a week

Oh, Bridges I am so sorry that you experienced this, but you are right....get back at it now. Get control of the situation. It is not meaningless, you are still down 28 pounds, and you learned something from the experienced. I would stick with what worked, SB, Atkins, or caloried counting....only you know your body best. Have a good Sunday!

Turn it around, Bridges. Instead of looking at this situation as a defeat, turn it into an opportunity to learn. Learn from the experience and any mistakes you made, and focus on what you can do from here on. There are positives. You are not 200 lbs. You have lost the weight before, which means you know what to do to succeed again. You know how to make the right decisions as well as the wrong ones. So, what are you going to do about it? Only you can make those decisions. You know making the right ones will pay off, because it's "worked before". You know that making the wrong ones lead to (in your own words) feeling "discouraged and defeated". Now's your chance. Every day is a new start, a fresh beginning. A new chance to decide. Keep going... You can do it. You know how.

Hey Bridges. I have been exactly where you are and here is how I got back on track. EXERCISE and WATER. Our bodies need both as we get older and I got of the roller coaster. I had to start slow with 30 minutes of Yoga and a brisk walk with Murphy at night. Just give it a try and let us know how you do. Pulling for you!
