peter the fat man's Journal, 28 January 2015

I started today with fatsecret.com just to give it a go. I was really surprised to see that for a man of my height and weight I have an allowance of 3300 calories! I wouldn never eat over about 2000 calories a day, and it would ony be when I'm on holiday that the calories roll up.
These diet websites from my own personal experience will always tell you to eat your calorific allowance, but what do you do when it's never at that level, eat more? Surely not!
Anyway, I had three small but square meals today, a bowl of porridge for breakfast, stew for lunch and a light snack in the evening. As I sit here now, I am full and just about to go to bed, and yet I have had only 700 calories today, I have burned of those calories by exercising for 1 3/4 hours and working today.
I hope to lose over a hundred pounds before May, so watch this space and prepare to be amazed!

Hello Peter....I too found that my calorie intake was way higher than I have ever eaten. I'm taking in about 600 when I'm being coached to take in 1700. I can't eat that much food.

Thanks for the reply MmeB, I agree, I think I would actually be ill if I was knocking in 3000+ calories a day! I know I wouldn't be able to exercise anyway.

Just a thought, I'm certainly no expert at all, but I do have some experience with ballerinas--and they often can't lose when they are eating below certain levels (and also exercising) because their metabolism slows way down. Might be worth some research since the gap between actual and recommended is so large. (Then again, I may be completely off base, and if so, please excuse me.) :-)

Yea, its a little high on here. You have to adjust it to fit your lifestyle and weight loss.
