Read the book The Protein Power Lifeplan. It's similar to Atkins but a little less restrictive as to what carbs you can eat depending on the exact style of the plan you choose. It's more focused on getting enough protein and limiting carbs and then letting fats fall where they may. I think my way of eating right now is closer to this plan than Atkins, maybe somewhere in the middle.

I'm also experimenting with resistant starches. I have started using green banana flour and potato starch in my morning berry punch. The banana flour has a distinctive taste while the potato starch is pretty much tasteless. I'm only using 1 tbsp so it's not a great impact to my current carb limit. I'm going to try the banana flour for 6 weeks and see if I notice any changes in my colon health. Then switch to potato starch to see if there is any difference.
242.0 lb Lost so far: 76.8 lb.    Still to go: 42.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
