GingerMarie123's Journal, 01 December 2014

I hope by fall of 2015, I will have lost enough weight to run my first marathon. It is something of physical strength that I have never achieved that I added to my bucket list some time ago. I've been walking briskly to work on strength and stamina for a few months now.
I ran 2 miles today, cheated for a stroll to catch my breath a few times, but I did give it my best. I am sure the drivers passing got a laugh at a 250 lb woman jogging. So much woman giggling! Ha Ha!

Your exercise routine is good, but please be careful of your knees, feet, and spine. All that percussion on joints can take a toll. Can you swim anywhere?

Rockiesfan, Ha ha! I live near Fort Hood Texas so most are soldiers. They are all skinny and healthy army folk. Hopefully my fat rolls gave them a smile before work this morning! I don't have a place to swim here this time of year. I have taken that into consideration, Bria. I just started Humara for psoriatic arthritis and my joints feel AmAzing. But you're right, I have to be careful not to over do it until I am much smaller.

Nhs couch to 5k helped me alot when I started running. It's a walk/run program that takes you gradually from not running to run your first 5km. I already finished it and I felt to so, this because I used to run 1 minute before I felt too tired to move my legs any further :P I think running a marathon is a huge goal, make sure you have some smaller mini-goals on the way. By the way, don't think about the other people in the cars, even if they are fit army guys, you are changing your habits and that is awesome.
