I went back to the dentist and got a major wakeup call this afternoon.'

I should first admit that since high school-I was bulemic.I havent purged for quite a while now-but the damage to my teeth has been done.Of course,it can be said there were different contributing factors-but I have to acknowledge that the bulemia had a lot to contribute to the state my teeth are in now.
I have to come up with 800 dollars to have the procedure done.Or basically I can look forward to having my teeth fall out gradually one by one.
I guess, let this be a lesson to anyone else thinking of becoming friends with the toilet. It catches up to u sooner or later.
Kinda feel sick about the whole thing right now-and still digesting this.I've always been an avoider and shied away from going to doctors or dentists basically because I KNEW what I was doing was not healthy.
I guess,I should be proud that with this new beginning of staying sober, eating right and exercising that I'm also taking care of myself and my teeth. Its all part of the package-the good the bad and the tooth decay :P

I think it's great you're getting this taken care of, and it's good of you to share your experience for people on FS who might be headed in this direction.

I think it is great that you are able to speak about this and share your experience. I wish you didn't have to go through this but it is nice that you are willing to share what has happened to you in hopes that it changes someones life.

I've been there too, although I mostly starved and worked out compulsively... the purging was more infrequent, and the whole thing only lasted a couple of years. Lots of people in this community share a similar experience. It's humbling to realise that no matter how smart and evolved we are, we can still find ourselves the victim of this debilitating disease. Kudos to you for admitting it, and working hard to be stronger, healthier, and happier. =) xxx

thanks to everyone-its funny-because I would never ever say this on my facebook. In fact, some of my best friends don't know.I feel like this is my safe haven-somewhere where I can work out my daily struggles with diet and food and not feel subject to ridicule or judgement. And,if that helps someone else in the process? All that much better.
