Good Morning world!

So, after a depressing weigh-in yesterday, and a large dose of self reflection, here I am again.

My thanks to those who left words of encouragement yesterday, I really needed them.

The only motivation I have is really just me. My family likes to TALK about weight loss, but the minute I mention I'm trying to get healthy?
It's like non-stop jokes mixed with complaints about what I cook.

One of my siblings wouldn't shut up last night because I measure the amount of cheese I was putting on my dinner. It seems like portion control is unheard of... just because you weigh your meat and measure your servings doesn't make you obsessed!

Anyone else keep quiet about their goals to avoid this stuff?

Families can be like that. It's a tribal thing. :) They *really* don't want you to be different. If you change how you do things, the fear is that they might have to change also. Hence the sniping. You can, if you wish, tell them this would be hard for you to do even with their support; if they can't be supportive, okay, but could they please try to not actively undermine or mock your methods. If they're anything like my siblings, they won't change, but letting them know their reactions are not appropriate or helpful is good for you. Then keep doing what you're doing. :)

Do what you need to do. If they don't want to come along with you, keep walking. Keep strong, encourage and empower yourself. They do not live in your body, don't let them live in your head. I am sure you hear them over and over, but they need to be evicted. Talk to yourself, out loud if need be. Do what you need to do. They can eat their words later. You can do this! You can focus on what you need to, and encourage yourself along the way. You are not depriving yourself, but empowering yourself to be the person you want to be. You are trading one life for a better life. Don't let anyone take that from you. YOU CAN DO THIS!
