I'm curious about the mountains and their affect on weight loss. I have been in the mountains at around 5000 ft up for 2 days, and my body bugg has shown an increase in calories burned. I know about the effects of altitude on breathing. Less oxygen means more work by the body to absorb enough oxygen. But I did not think about that actually increasing the metabolic rate. I guess it makes sense. More work to do whatever job will mean more calories used. Nice!!

Anyway, thought that was interesting. =)

Very interesting!! Since I'm moving to Arizona this might be helpful for me, as well!

We were 4500-5000 elevation for the whole trip. And, the moment we came back down to flatland it was very different. There was an immediate drop in calories burned. Crazy, huh?
