So, A little over 4 years ago I started my journey on here ---- Lost 40 pounds and started exercising daily and eating better ---

Yesterday I went for a Heart Scan and got a Coronary Calcium Score of 42 which means plaque is present. I have mild heart disease. My chance of having a heart attack is moderate. Supposed to talk with doctor about quitting smoking, eating better, beginning an exercise program, and any other treatment I may need. Well, I never smoke, eat well, exercise daily so not sure what Doc would say except maybe prescribe pills ...

I'm not over the top worried about it .... I figure it takes years to build up the plaque that causes those deposits and it was probably my years of sedentary lifestyle that caused the existing deposits.

I am thankful I started my journey 4 years ago and have stuck with it --- It is a way of life now

I am also thankful that the heart scan is available for only $50 --- I'll go back in a couple years and do another scan to compare where I am at --- As long as it doesn't progress quickly I'll be happy -- I mean I gotta die of something right? I'm not gonna be miserable with my diet just for fear of what may be in my genes anyways. My dad had a quad-bypass around 55 and my granddad had heart issues too...

Still feeling 100% --- very rarely get sick etc. Wonder what my doc will say ... How bad is a 42 at age 46 hmmmmmm

175.0 lb Lost so far: 40.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I've got 5 stents in my heart and a history of heart disease in my family. We can't do anything about our genes, but can do everything about how well we take care of ourselves. Just do the best you can do, that's what I'm doing (finally).
