Day One:

So today I am starting Phase 1 on the South Beach Diet, which I have done before with much success. Even though it's successful, it can be very grueling. So when I have overwhelming cravings or just feel mentally out-of-whack due to the lack of carbs, I'm gonna say a prayer and then write an entry. So, here's the first one:

I'm not a jounraler. Rarely do I share my struggles out loud much less write them down, but I'm hoping that this will help. I've eaten three eggs and waiting for lunch, which is a little past due, but due to forgetting my lunch on the kitchen counter, I must wait a little longer.

I have a headache from the caffeine, so I popped Excedrin. That'll help, but I'm gonna have to wean myself off of that. I know that most of the hunger I feel and will feel is cravings and that is what this 2 week diet will defeat. It did it last time and I know it will this time.

Food soon, but no carbs, no grease. Looking like KFC grilled chicken minus the skin and green beans. Tonight will most likely be grilled chicken at home with grilled onions and some form of green vegetable.

2:00pm
Just ate lunch too late. Had KFC grilled chicken breast, green beans, & cole slaw. Filling, but far from satisfying, but that's what these two weeks are about - aligning filling with satisfying. Threw the biscuit away - that sucked, but absolutely necessary. 2 meals down, time to guzzle some water. Maybe more later, may be tomorrow before I update again.

4:30pm
Wow I'm tired and hungry. My body is rebelling against not getting any carbs & caffeine. I can do this though. Just gotta make it until bed time, go to sleep and I'll be 1/14th of the way there.
