ZincKatz's Journal, 04 April 2014

I started 2.5 weeks ago and I am down 7 lbs. I have been able to follow my calorie goals 100%. The first couple days were a bit of a pain with all the calorie counting, and finding foods that work for me - but its second nature now. I miss a lot of foods, but I cannot say I have actually been overly hungry. Time is a killer for me when it comes to exercise. I am mountain bike riding at 100% effort for 30 minutes 3 times a week. I thought I was gonna die after the first ride. But, after 8 sessions I have already increased the distance I can ride in 30 minutes from 6.0 miles to 6.8 miles. I keep my average heart rate at 148 with a peak at around 165. Prior to starting my diet, I was experiencing pain in both knees. I noticed today going up stairs I had no pain. I am not sure if its the 7 lbs, the bike riding, or just psychological - but knees are feeling better. I intend to add resistance training 2 days a week as soon as I can sort out a schedule with work. Still 33 lbs to go, but I have to say I am feeling positive results - even if they are not visible yet.
