FitOKay's Journal, 27 February 2014

I was stupid -.- I was doing so well with this cold but I hadn't exercised all week So I thought, 'I'm doing so well, I'll just do a nebulizer befor and after. It'll be fine.' I even limited it it to a very leisurely (10mph) biking session for onky half and hour- half my normal time. I just wanted to exercise at least once during the week so it wasnt that much harder when I was better next week. That was a few hours ago. Fairly certain my lungs are attempting murder suicide atm. Im running nebs and going to try to at the very least avoid the er, get in to dr asap in the morning. This means prednisone which screws with blood sugar and is a steroid so screws with weight and etc... not to mention the whole breathing thing- may not be checking back in for a few days. Kicking myself. This is what I kept doing to myself trying to run again, I finally stop that and pull something this dumb with a cold. Knowing it could trigger a flare like this *face palm*

CalynLZ, I am a RN and understand what you are going through. Do you have a controller inhaler and the cold seems to be one of your triggers. Yes, all steroids increase your appetite, so you need to eat high volume foods at this time. 1. Fruit o Fruits offer high amounts of water without a lot of calories or fat, making them a low-fat, high-volume food. Fruits should be eaten either fresh or frozen. Avoid fruits that are canned in syrup or have added sugar, as this increases the calorie content. Dried fruit should be avoided, as the drying process removes the majority of the water, making it a low-volume food. In order to add more fruits to your diet, try adding strawberries or blueberries to your oatmeal and cereal. Watermelon can be substituted for French fries as a side for many meals, and apples make a quick portable snack. Vegetables o Vegetables are another of nature's low-fat, high-volume foods, due to the high water content. Starch-based vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and corn, have lower water contents. Many leafy greens, such as lettuce, spinach and kale, have higher water contents and can be used in a variety of meals. Broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini also have high water content but should be consumed raw, steamed or lightly sautéed without a lot of butter or oil, which will increase the fat being consumed. Vegetables can be added to omelets, sandwiches or salads for those who do not like them plain. Certain vegetables, such as celery and peppers, can be eaten raw as a crunchy snack. I am hoping you and the kids you feel better soon.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! I'm so close to the 150s, not letting this derail me!
