madaboutmoose's Journal, 25 January 2014

My youngest is at our house for the weekend. So nice to have him here. Course that means we are going out and about. DH wants Chinese. Any suggestions about healthy choices for Chinese? Did ok yesterday. More calories and I did have wine but still within my RDI and up 2 oz this morning which of course is really nothing. Hoping for an outing today or tomorrow. Managed to stay in bed until 7 when Blue put his paws on the bed and his face in mine. Stay the course Moose. And remember the joy is in the journey not the destination.

Anything that isn't deep fried. Chicken or prawn noodles, is often good. Won't they have on the menu 'low fat'. I know our often do.

Doubt it in Idaho ... probably if we were in Washington or California but Idaho isn't putting that sort of thing on the menus at least not in the small businesses. Thanks though for the suggestion!!

When it comes to chinese, the options are kind of low for something rather healthy. When I get it, I usually go with black pepper chicken and broccoli beef (or mongolian). I think your best shot is anything that's not deep fried or breaded like Sk1nny said, and anything with lots of vegetables. You could also try soup, though that's usually loaded with sodium so you have to be careful. Stay away from potstickers! lol

So glad your son is home for a few...Enjoy your outing...I have no idea what you can eat but veggies is a good choice..but then again you could just enjoy it and start again after your son leaves...:O)

I usually get Mongolian beef and green beans. Of course portion sizing is key on this stuff too! Have fun with your family today!
