Unsweetened applesauce is my new baking best friend. I just checked to see how much fat I avoided by substituting applesauce with oil in all of the baked goods I made yesterday and I dodged over 13g of fat just from what I ate of the things I made. Total I cut out 218g of fat out of the three baked goods I made and replaced it with only 26g of carbs. Per serving that turns into an exchange of over 4.5g of fat replaced with just over .5g of carbs and a reduction of over 36 calories just by switching one ingredient. Whoo hoo. I'm never eating any confections at home I didn't bake myself ever again.
