Just got back from my 2.87 mile walk. Same routine every morning but it's what gets the job done. I love my morning and evening coffee and here's my motivation. My secret is that I live close to a Seven Eleven store and I love their vanilla or their blueberry flavor coffee. Its usually rather cool outside when I do my morning walk at 6AM. So I normally jog all the way there which is a little over a mile and a quarter. My treat/reward is to get a small cup of steaming hot black coffee of any flavor I want but no sugar and no creamer. I'll then power walk back with it. It warms me up, gives me an extra little boost of energy, and by the time I get back home I am bursting with energy from the coffee and from already jogging and walking so this is when I throw down the exercise mat and start doing my toning and exercises with light weights.
My morning coffee is what gets my day going but I made a rule to myself two weeks ago: "If you want it, earn it and walk for it." I used to take the easy way and drive there then I'd load up on creamers, sugars, all the junk that's no good for me.
This little bit of discipline has made me feel a whole world of difference. (Laughing) I'm sure the people who see me have no idea it's just plain black coffee and are probably thinking "that crazy woman is wasting her time. She's carrying a coffee cup while walking." BUT I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE and that's all that matters. And it's working. I'm closer to my goal every day and proud that I'm able to discipline myself and benefit from it.
