Using my new formula for calorie burn I've set my daily activities at one hour of working out, while all other activities (sleep, sitting, desk work, low intensity stuff) is left as just resting/sleep. According to this formula using your age, weight, and heart rate

(CB= [{Age X 0.074} + {W/lbs X 0.05741} + {HR X 0.4472} - 20.4022] X Time/mins/4.184)

you can get a more adequate idea of how many calories your body is really burning...at least I hope. I'm going to give this a try & see if it makes a difference in the lbs I lose. Using the calculations on here & the calories in vs calories burn method (researching websites states that burning 500 calories a day yields 1 lb lost per week). Using this method if I workout 5 X a week for 1 hour (moderate range/80% Max Hr) I can burn on average 915 calories along with reducing my required calories (using the BMR method) to 1600 calories I should start losing 2 lbs. per week (average weight loss). Experimenting sometimes is the best way to figure things out. Honestly, most of these preset calorie monitoring systems are all wrong. Who knows this might be too, but guess we'll have to wait & see.
