No change in weight, but have gone down 1 more belt notch!

Went to the orthopedic surgeon today - good news: I can ride my bike again. I can do low to moderate impact stuff as long as it doesn't cause pain.

Bad news: I will never be able to run. I could probably do some tennis, but that's the extent of it.

He said that the MRI completely missed how bad the damage is in my right hip, and that the surgery I had for the torn labrum probably didn't do me much good. The cartilage is sheering off my femoral ball like Teflon in a pan. He's seen this kind of thing in knees but never in a hip before. Basically - I have an arthritic hip at the age of 35.

It's depressing as hell because I'm pretty sure he's right and that I will need a hip replacement within a year. That's even more of a reason not to binge out on food though, the less I weigh, the less stress the joints will have to bear. I may get a second opinion and need to consider options.
