I am fell off the diet wagon again and believe the best way to get to my goal is to start that trick of recording everything I eat. Hopefully, this will work. I am starting in four days but also plan to weigh myself every day until then so I don't party too much before the hated task of recording my intake.
134.3 lb Lost so far: 27.7 lb.    Still to go: 7.3 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

It is really easy for me to record what I eat on my FitBit Tracker. Once you get a few of your most eaten items in, it is just a click to enter them. Saved in your favorites or most used. Lots of brands already in the system. Compliance is so hard and yet so important so tools that make it easier are a must. Good luck!
