Since this is my first time to join here in FatSecret; I just want to motivate myself to lose weight. As a matter of fact, I tried different kinds of diet but none of them worked. So, I decided to make my own diet by eating 1500 calories a day or less. Hope you could also help me to lose weight. Your advice will also be a good help.
Thank you so much.... :)

a lot of different things work for a lot of different people. But what I've learnt is that there are some basic rules. Try to avoid too much sugar in any form, try to stay with natural wholesome foods, don't overeat, know what foods will trigger binge eating for yourself, incorporate a healthy lifestyle (ie exercise, good sleep, stress reduction) slow is ok, be patient with yourself, try not to obsess but make it a lifestyle change and not something to be good and done with. And if you fail, get back up, don't blow it all! Welcome to FS, a great tool for weight loss and lifestyle change.

Oh thank you so much for the advice. Actually, that's one of my problem I can't control my eating. I really wanted to lose weight because I am still overweight and it's not good. I want to change my lifestyle and I really don't want to look fat....

If you cut way down on sugar, you'll be able to control those cravings. It'll help so much!! Trust me. And take it one day at a time.

Have you thought about doing a sport, or getting some exercise in? Is this possible?

Well, for the past days I did try to eliminate sodas or any sugar drinks, well, actually, it did work. I also did some cardio exercises but my problem is, after my workout I feel hungry so I couldn't control the food that I eat. What do you think is the best solution for this problem. Hope you could help me

I'm just guessing, but I would try for a diet with more protein. And soda's, as long as you keep sodas in your diet, you're doomed! It's one of the worst things you can ingest on every level. I have a friend who is addicted to them.

Okay... I'll try to lessen my carbs and eat more protein... By the way, do you have a meal or diet plan that you can suggest so I can try if it will work for me...

no,just focus on protein, fiber, good wholesome food, not too much dairy and not too much sugar. Counting your calories works, as it makes you more aware of what food contain what...They're are so many schools of thoughts on the subject, however, most of them agree about the processed sugar and trans fat being just nasty. (cakes, soda, cookies etc ie things we love.... ;)

Well, that's what I am starting to try by counting calories but my main concern is here in the Philippines our food has a high content of oil/greasy/fatty foods. Low fat and Low sodium foods are so expensive. That's the reason why most Filipinos are at high risk of obesity.

Meat, fruits, and vegetables don't come in oil or sugar. You've got to chose those.
