Even [color=orange]though today is my first day being a member, i have been dieting for a month. I'm a 32 year old wife and mother of three beautiful children. I have struggled with my weight every since childhood. After my second child was born I was motivated to loose weight and I was very successful. I lost 50 pounds, on the low carb diet. I exercised daily. Soon after I lost my job and became a stay at home mom. The weight packed on and in the next two years I was pregnant again. I was very excited about the pregnancy, but once again I was classified as high risk because of being overweight. During the pregnancy i actually lost weight, but after the birth of my son i got bigger than i had ever been. Long story short my son will be five this year, i'm in ministry, and going back to school the Lord has graced me with a beautiful life and I want to live a long healthy life with my family. So i am in pursuit of a live style change. Not just quick weight loss. One month ago i went to the doctor and weighed in at 376 pounds. i go back today and am very excited to see what has happened over the last month. I have not weighed in, but i feel better and i feel like i have lost weight. No matter what the outcome In the name of Jesus, i cant stop now! To every one who is struggling with this disease of obesity trust in God and don't stop fighting. The race is not given to the swift or the strong, but the one who endures until the end.

Hi T Barnes! I'm the opposite -- I joined a month ago but haven't made any actual effort yet, so today is really my start date, too. It took me a while to get into the habit of recording everything I eat, and I'm counting on this challenge to keep me on track with that. Then my husband had to go on a low-sodium diet so I was focused on that. Starting NOW, I'm going to pay attention to what's going into MY mouth. Good luck to both of us with this first challenge! God bless.
