For the past few weeks, I've been trying so very hard to lose weight. I even tried all different kinds of diet but sad to say, none of them worked for me. I became so depressed and lost hope. So, I did some research and I just found out that if you want to lose weight you should know your Basal Metabolic Rate/BMR and your Body Mass Index and the result of my BMI is OVERWEIGHT because my initial weight is 166 pounds and my BMR showed that I need 1400 calories a day. Plus, I also found out that when you want to lose weight you need a lot of patience, determination, motivation and discipline. So, I already decided that I want to lose weight without following any DIETS. I will cut down my sugary drinks, control the food that I eat like to less my intake in carbohydrates, eat more high protein, and fiber, drink lots and lots of water and do some cardio exercises.... Let's see if this diet will really work for me...

My advice.. eliminate sugary drinks. Biggest change for me in last three months? No alcohol. None. No sugar drinks or fruit juice. None. Unsweetened coffee, iced tea, water.. vitamins are from whole fruit and vegetables. I'm eating much less than I was - the last thing I want to do is lose out on real food because I was drinking calories instead of eating them. The other thing that seems to have helped, is making sure I obtain a modest helping of fat (yes fat) in the morning. Every breakfast includes 1 oz of cheese or one egg. And that seems to have helped me with more modest lunches and dinners. So far, so good - 22 lbs since end of May.. after years of being unable to put a dent in my weight. And now, I'm in the habit. Clean eating, more chicken, fish, shellfish, more vegetables, and significantly less processed carbs. Small dinners are no longer "punishment" - they are pleasant experiences with many, many new recipes expanding my palate (loooove the shrimp tacos - try putting a few spicy shrimp on the bbq, then put in a couple of whole wheat tortillas with some diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce = yummmm.. and very low calories. Best of luck!
