Interesting observation - the months where I choose to exercise more are also the months where my weight is most problematic. When I was really doing well with my weight loss I was barely exercising. I was however very busy with house stuff so I was burning more calories with an active lifestyle. i also think sometimes I make myself do exercise to balance over indulgences.
So for me it would seem that if I focus on eating well and keeping active I'd be in good shape diet wise. There are other health benefits for working out - build muscle, strength, health, staying/getting toned, metabolism - that make it worth it. So a little bit of each then. I'm aiming for 3 workouts a week but my previous best month was 7 times in a month.

p.s. I'm starting yoga on Mondays.
