Lyra123's Journal, 19 July 2013

Well, my health has been failing quickly over the last year. I am 57 and have uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure. Although I had lost down to 183 pounds, everything was out of control. I am on new medicines and have actually seen a glucose level of 139, but my aic is at 10, and something has to give. I need to exercise more vigorously (obviously half an hour per day of leisurely walking the dog doesn't cut it). I am fairly good about WHAT I eat, but I have to cut back on calories. I need to not only count carbs, but also count calories and get more vigorous exercise. I keep thinking that I would like dancing, but I don't have a partner, and the zoomba looks insane to me. I am able to move well, but I don't think that I can maintain such an active pace initially - perhaps I can eventually build up to it, but not at the outset. Money is an issue, of course. And my anxiety levels are tremendous because of all of my financial troubles. Anyway, I am starting today. I might fall down a few times, but I will always get back up in my efforts to lose down to my goal. So fat today, I have eaten two pieces of Red Baron supreme classic crust pizza. That's about 400 calories (1/5 is 320; total of 1600/4 for 400 calories and 43.75g of 165 g of carbs)leaving me 1200 calories and 121.25g. carbs). Now, I just have to get through this day meeting the remaining calories and carbs to be successful today. Then, I'll start again tomorrow.
