AwesomeForever's Journal, 22 June 2013

It has been five and a half years since I had my RNY surgery. I am pleased with my progress. I have had some ups and downs.
Next week I will again be going with grandchildren to Washington DC.
I will have the help of my oldest daughter who is the mom to two of the three children. I am so happy to have her help as the youngest one is six.
I looked over my journal to see that five years ago, I was hoping I would reach 190 by my birthday June 17th. I am so glad that I have accomplished what I have.
I am glad that the disability retirement has been solved and I have that extra money to get places and do things that are keeping me sane...travel!
My class action suit has gone further and we are waiting to see what the judge will do. It is now in the settlement phase.
I will hope that in about two years I may have money based on the fact that I was only offered one hour of work a day. Basically, it would have cost me to go to work!
I have had some adventures and traveled this year to Washington for the inauguration, to Las Vegas for a convention and will go to two more conventions in Phoenix August and Anaheim in October, an upcoming trip to do mission work is in the planning stages for October as well.
My fridge is packed with produce for our step towards ending hunger. In the latter part of the summer, some in our congregation will donate from their gardens but now those of us who can are buying produce to add to the fridges at the homeless shelter for families in the next town over.
Good week coming up, my packing is started and there are some adventures from flying to DC to sharing the Smithsonian Folklife Festival with my young grandchildren.
What are you doing to keep healthy? I walk as often as I can, I eat fresh produce and stay away from the canned goods aisle.
