That's true. It gets easier eventually :). But remember, even if you go to Carls Jr on occasion, you can still make better choices! Use the diet calendar to look up the calories first. I ate fast food probably about once a week while losing the first 50 pounds. Eventually, I didn't want to anymore. But If you order a small fries and small burger (jr or kids) or just a burger with no fries (no cheese, no mayo both help also) you can make a meal that has a reasonable number of calories, especially if you skip the soda and have water or unsweetened iced tea :). Small changes add up to big results!

Thanks, K8. I always order the big hamburger (less than 500 calories) and split a medium fry with my boy (about 250 calories). The food itself didn't make me feel gross, I just feel weird that I haven't had any real cardio in about a month due to my work schedule changing. I'm trying to get a couple of girl friends to start working out with me so I don't get bored, but so far they're slackers. The first 50 was a breeze for me, but I need to get back on that cardio wagon, not so much to lose more, but to increase my endurance.

You should sign up for a 5K or walk for charity! I just did and it is really helping me be motivated to work out and to run. I got some friends to sign up too so they will jog with me. But actually, I really have fun working out by myself the most. I like listening to music and having just one time of the day where nobody needs me to do anything for them. But I spend all day talking to people (many of whom I don't want to talk to, lol) so maybe I am weird.

Interesting idea. Our annual turkey trot will be here before I know it. I bet I could get a team before then. We also have a few "race for the cures" here on campus at least twice a year. This whole being active thing is relatively new for me (started January 2010), it would be nice to do something that used to be so out of my league.

Hey Brookie, The Turkey trot sounds intriguing. Do you have to flap your arms and at the end of the race do you gobble, gobble? Okay, Im tired, let me know if I can participate as I would love to be the biggest Turkey there lol. TOWANDA!!!!!

Mom, what I know is that it appears to be more of a children's thing and that they have a bunch of different events. But I know students who have participated in it, so I guess its for adults too. I happens the Saturday before Thanksgiving every year. For more info look up "Davis Turkey Trot." I would post the link, but FS hates when I do that.

Hmm - I might be up for that too. Let me know if you decide to do it.
