I completed week 1 of a 5K challenge & followed the guidelines to the letter! I'm extremely proud I was able to accomplish that. I feel so great knowing I can do a lot more than I give myself credit for. I'm looking forward to getting week 2 underway but as I look ahead I get nervous. I just don't see myself being able to follow the guidelines for weeks 5 & beyond. I just might surprise myself once I get there but right now I have serious apprehension towards it. I'm afraid if I keep psyching myself out over future week's workouts I'll undermine my motivation & eventually fall back into the rut of not doing anything, which I most certainly don't want to happen! I should just focus on the present & basically "cross that bridge when I get to it".
