I'm really trying to stretch my money out (isn't everybody these days?). Can anyone recommend some economical Atkins recipes?

I just bought and cooked a whole chicken for the first time ever - then made broth (I felt so domestic)! I'll definitely be doing that again. I also eat eggs cooked alll sorts of ways. I'm looking for some more variety to throw into my routine.

It may sound corny but buy what's on sale. It may be steak one day, and chicken breasts another. I just bought a package of 14 chicken breasts at Sam's and grilled some and froze the others. If you are like me, the real problem in controlling expenditures is something called "dining out". I've also decided to quit buying wine. It can be an expensive habit. I've also come to enjoy ground turkey made like taco meat. We keep this, also with beef, on hand to throw into a tortilla (low carb for us) with some shredded cheese for a quick delicious meal. You can also toss this stuff on a pile of lettuce for a yummy mexican salad. I also like pork tenderloin which you can get on sale and eat off of for a number of days.

Good ideas - thanks! I'll have to start actually paying attention to the sales papers. And we've cut down eating out to once a month, so that's helping a LOT.

East Asian cultures get a lot of their protein from beans and pulses--stuff like garbanzos, lentils, chana dal, mung beans, azuki beans, etc. That may or may not work for you.
