My weight scale seems to be playing tricks on me.
Today I weighed in at 317. Two days ago I was up around 319. But that same day, I went for a checkup with my Dr. and they weighed me at 316.

Last week I was around 315 on my home scale. I didn't use this site, which is why I forgot to record it. After Carb Nite I went up to around 321. I was so shocked of the amt of weight gain. I know the book tells us this will happen, but I was hoping to be back down at 315 this morning.

I feel the issue is cashews. I might be cheating a little on them, and need to stop.

I'm trying to find solutions for crunchy snacks. I do eat almonds, but there is just so much of them you can eat.

My Challenge: Slow down on the cashews. Find a low carb snack you will enjoy.

Have you tried pork rinds? They are delicious and zero carbs. They are super-good for dipping in french onion dip!

Also, yes, cashews are higher in carbs. Nuts, in general, will probably boot you out of the under 10 grams of carbs zone...they are great for Low Carb but not so great for VERY low carb. :( sorry You could try macadamia nuts! They are so yummy and full of fat, so it is difficult to over eat them.

I have tried pork rinds, but I did not care too much for it. My wife, who also is on this diet, loves pork rinds. But remember one thing about nuts, they are healthy. They got tons of dietary fiber. So if you have 28 almonds (thats 1 serving) its about 5g carbs, but has 3g dietary fibers = 2 net carbs. I've stopped eating the cashews, and thinking of pistachios. Thanks for the recommendation for macadamia nuts, I will look into that also.

BUMMER that you do not like pork rinds! I like them in "spurts", sometimes I feel they are the best things EVER for my VLC days and sometimes I couldn't eat them if you paid me! :D Yup, nuts are very healthy! All I am saying is, 10 grams is the MAX you should get on a lowcarb day on CNS. It is "safer" to aim for "zero" carbs, since you pick them up here and there in your dairy, eggs, etc. If you eat five helpings of nuts, you have only eaten 10 g carbs, but they don't allow for the "invisible" ones you pick up. That's why I was advising against them. Ultimately, however, you will have to do what works for you! :)

Wait no, I thought its 30g max per day, but per "meal" you shouldn't go over 10g, because that would start spiking insulin? I actually track my food on another site, myfitnesspal (if you're on there search for same username). This helps me see where my macros are within the day. You can also set your own personal goals, to have it work with CNS.

Whoops! My bad! I checked the book and you are right! :) 30 g a day or less. Thanks for the tip about My Fitness Pal! Not sure if I will see you over there or not. IS there a big "CNS" group over there? I am looking specifically for support for this WOE, and Fat Secret seemed to have the biggest community. Where do you find others doing CNS?

I found about that site, because I follow this guy (not many guys blog on CNS), and he uses it. Explained how you can adjust the macros to have it match CNS goals. (his blog: waynescn.blogspot.com) My myfitnesspal: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/cmatthaios . When you said 10g, I was like did the book change or something, lol. 10g would really hurt me, being a diabetic as well. There is a couple people on CNS at mysfitnesspal, but no real activity or forum, similar to here.

SO I went ahead and made a group on that site as well, hopefully we can find more help there: www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/14083-carb-nite-solution
