Morning friends,
Hope you all had a good weekend. We saw Kung Fu Panda with the fam yesterday and I ate popcorn and raisinettes and had a nice bloated stomach to go with it! I haven't been as careful lately, and now I have a (hopefully) temporary gain to show for it this morning! Back on counting points today. I wanted to hit 139 by next week. To do so I will really need to focus. We have a camping trip next weekend with 6 other families and it was in my mind to hit that before we go. I will focus, but not stress- there's more important things in life to worry about, right?!

On the new job front, I ended up giving my 2 weeks notice on Saturday. It was the shortest lived job I've ever had at a month of employment! It was just not working out the greatest for the family. I felt like my house was a mess, the kids and I weren't able to do anything fun in the summer like go to the beach and pool like we love to do, I could barely make it to the gym and have time to do other stuff. All in all, it's just better with me at home, even though it is tiring to be at home too. My son is 4 and still has 2 years before he will be in school full time, so for now I will stay at home and my husband can use my help more for our business. The other thing was that the job was ok but I didn't really like it that well either. I might have had a different perspective on it if I was doing something I would really love to do, like flip houses or something like that. Now I'm trying to decide if maybe in the fall I should look into a degree in interior design or get my real estate license. We will see I guess. I'm just looking forward to getting back at home and am reinvigorated to get organizing the areas that really need it in the house and not rushing everywhere again! It turned me into crabby mom which I did not care for. I am not sure how you moms who work and have to take care of your house too balance it all. It is a lot of work and stress!!

Well, that was a long one! Sorry! Hope you all have a good week and will focus on becoming lean and strong this week. Let's make good choices with foods that are going to benefit our hearts and waistlines this week and push ourselves in our exercise. I will be hitting the gym this morning for a good workout.

I have been a stay at home mom for the better part of my daughter's 16 years with only a few part time jobs and a couple of full time term jobs that only lasted a few months. I agree that being a stay at home mom can be tiring (and make you stir crazy!) and it isn't the right choice for everyone, but I loved it overall and wouldn't go back and change it if I could. I can see how much happier and at peace it makes you just from reading your journal. So it is obviously the right choice for you, too. And I'm sure your short stint at working did you some good. You nolonger dream that the grass is greener outside the home. Good luck with the week ahead!

I was a stay at home mum for 9 years and only went back to work part-time October 2006... 3 years after our youngest started school. I'm lucky to work during school hours and also get all the school holidays off too. It can be hard though trying to juggle home and work life - no way would I have any inclination to go back to working full-time at the moment. I did that for 2 years when our eldest (now 15) was a baby and hated all the things that I felt I was missing out on. So I don't blame you for wanting your freedom back... kids grow up so quickly, so make the most of that time. It would indeed be a wonderful opportunity for you to further your education if that's what you decide though. I know I still yearn to go back to being a stay at home mum full-time... trouble is now I know I'd miss the extra money. :o(
