Welcome to Thursday.

While I have not posted my weight on here (yet) I have been weighing 'almost' daily. It has slowly been declining since my weekend adventures and Peach Cobbler incident but it is up from what my chart here on fatsecret indicates. 188 today.

We watched a rather depressing movie last night, The Stoning of Soyara M. It was well made but just so awful. I can't even tell you what I thought about it. It was disturbing on so many levels. I find it difficult to comprehend that there are still places in this world where people are stoned to death.

I did well with eating yesterday and have been faithfully on my elliptical everyday. I have not done Pilates for a few days ... mostly because I am trying to finish up a movie to send back to Netflix. Bounty Hunter. Not all that great in my opinion but at least it is something to watch.

Not much else to report. I am getting my hair done today. I pay for curls. It is just so much easier to care for my hair that way. Today though we are going to try larger, looser curls at my husband's request. Funny thing is when I called to make the appointment my hairdresser, Melissa, said she had been thinking the same thing!! She said the last time she saw me at the market I was looking fuzzy!! Fuzzy? I don't want to look fuzzy!!! LOL!! I always enjoy getting my hair done ... very relaxing. I wish I could do the perm and highlights but two different chemical procedures on my hair thrashes it. So ... curls it is. I'll let you know how it pans out. Hopefully I will be fuzz free.

Gratefulness.

1. being okay with the numbers on the scale still (not delighted but not stressed out ... that is such a major improvement!!!)

2. dust day at work!! Twice a month our program manager declares 'dust day' which means we can 'officially' wear jeans to work. I actually wear jeans whenever the heck I want since I am often out and about, sitting on the floor or outside at a park with little ones and their families. Still it is nice every once in a while to be 'legally' in my jeans!! Today of course with warm temperature they are crop jeans!!

3. summer nights that cool off nicely and enhance sleep!!

4. being a part of the fatsecret community

5. choosing healthy foods these past few day

Have a terrific Thursday buddies!!

Hmmm. Watching that movie was timely as they are about to do the same to a woman in Iran (adultery). It seems that when men are stoned they bury them to the waist there, but when women are stoned they bury them to the chest, giving them much less chance to escape. I'll try to Tivo that movie in case you saw it on TV. Good job getting your weight to turn back towards goal, eight pounds for people like you and me are a piece of cake. Thanks for your comments and PM and have a great day Carol!

Good for you, turning it around and getting back on track. Been doing that myself this week...finally got the weight back under where it was when family arrived! All week I've been asking why I do that to myself, when I know the work it's going to be to turn it around. lol

Info ... thanks for the vote of confidence!! You help me remember that 8 lbs isn't all that much and nothing to worry about. I watched the movie on Netflix not TV. This stoning took place in Iran. It was based on a true story. Unbelievable it is still happening today.

Sounds like the kind of movie I always want to watch and think I should watch, but can never bring myself to watch. ACK! I cannot even think about Info's comment. How awful! You sound good. Almost fully recovered from THe Incident. Hope your hair comes out the way you want it. My hair is curly and I usually try to tame it down a bit but in this weather I have to go where the fuzz wants to take me.

I love getting my hair cut. Its time to myself, with fun people, reading magazines and relaxing - and if all works out, you come outa there looking beautiful! Have a good one, and I'm happy to see that you haven't bought any more pies... LOL

Last time I got my hair cut, my hairdresser decided that I should have a bob - I had to argue with her because I am growing my hair out to match Valerie Bertinelli's style.

Hi Moose, just getting back on line. Still at work and been super busy today. How nice that hubby has a hair request. I think that is awesome. Carol I have curly hair and I use lots of products to help with that fuzziness. Probably too many but some of my favs are TIGI curl rocks foxy curls shampoo and conditioner and I use Sunsilk curl cream and Tigi Amplifer and some mousse. These are great products for bringing out your curl and getting rid of the fuzz. I also use a difuser.

ooh .... hair product recommendations!!! COOL!!! I have some Bedhead Foxy Curls creme stuff I really like. I'll have to make a list of these when I get home!! I think it turned out good. It is a much looser curl so hopefully it won't poof out so much. I can't wash it or comb it (finger combing is okay) for 48 hours!!! That's what I hate worse about getting a perm. I hope Bob likes it. It will of course relax a bit over time too.

By the way ... this is now an official 'pie free' zone.

I demand a picture!! :) I also love getting my hair done. It is amazing what a confidence booster that is. I have hair that is wavy. Not curly, not straight, just wavy enough to look like a big mess in any style other than very short. Luckily, I love, love, love my really short hair! And because it is so short, I can color it every time and it never gets too fried. I always ask my BF what he likes and he says "It's just hair". LOL. I love my BF :)

well .... the curls aren't as big as Bob had hoped. I explained to him that a perm often relaxes so it may look different in time. He says he likes it he had just hoped for big curls. LOL!!! I think what he is hoping for probably won't work. I'll wait on a pic until I'm through the 48 hours with no washing or brushing phase!!! So ... maybe if you are all REALLY nice to me I'll post a picture. We're watching Shutter Island tonight .... I'm expecting more violence ... might be time for a good mindless chick flick soon!!! LOL

Yes I want to see a picture too! Do you use a difuser? You can make the curls bigger or smaller by using one. Let me know how the movie is. Talk to you soon. Thinking about the weekend already and what step I am going to take. lol

Maybe Bob was looking for some Farrah Faucet curls??? Hmmm...either way...I have to say "fuzzy" or not...big curls or not...you really have an awesome personality! I am thinking you could even pull off the BALD look! :) I really appreciate reading your journals....and your grateful lists!!! I am also beginning to think...your merely did the cobbler incident....to SHOW everyone what an inspiration you are!!! You can have an oopps day...and life goes on! And so for THAT inspiration....I THANK you!!!! And also thank you for your kind supportive words!!! I can honestly say I TOO am grateful for finding such a great place....the fat secret!!! :)

I also like what a diffuser does for my curly hair, but I have to say I've used a blow dryer on myself maybe 10 times at home in the last decade. I don't even know where my dryer is. What I do to make my curls bigger is I put in my products (Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom--been using it for almost 20 years--Ack! That's a scary thought--and maybe one other product) and take big hunks of hair (four or five over my whole head--two on each side) and twist the hunks of hair and pull them so they dry in those twists. If you DO use a dryer/diffuser with this method it will make big curls in a very easy way--you'll get those loose "beachy" waves a la Sarah Jessica Parker. Another product I love is Terax conditioner. Can't live without. I cut that tube open and scrape out every last drop.

Beets after I get all the products in my hair I use a difuser with those things in it and I first turn my head upside down to get some of the moisture out and then I start at the sides scrunching and blowing each section right side up and upside down. It's quite the process since I do it every morning but I've got it down to 15 minutes which isn't too bad. I love the products I use. I couldn't live without them. lol If I just let my hair dry on its own it would look like waves and frizz. With the scrunching it is more defined curls.
