I had a two day departure from Atkins over Christmas. I have not had astounding results from Atkins so far but I attribute that to some digestion issues. Low carb sluggish issues. My GYN doctor put me on this diet, so the grown-up thing to do would be to call her nurse, right? I know from listening to one of the author's of the New Atkins for A New You on youtube that it is very detrimental to have cheat days. In one of his videos he addresses the issue for patients, and it is worth a listen. I don't plan on having regular cheat days, but did do the holiday va-cay. Paying the price of starting over becoming a fat burner. I gained a pound which, given my slow weight loss, was a disheartening set-back. As they say in the movies "Penalties must be paid!". I got my big girl panties on and I just have to soldier through. Any suggestions that do not include fiber supplements are welcome, if any one is reading this.
Today food-wise was satisfying. My HS senior and I had a little mother-son lunch while we were out getting a haircut for him and test-driving cars for me. The rare time together as he readies himself for life beyond home was a gift to be sure. Love,love love a little time like this! I had a great salad and then somehow convinced him to do the marketing on the way home with me. I got some salmon for tonight and laid in some other provisions for later.
Glass half-empty day turned to glass half-full.
