Teebear's Journal, 29 May 2010

I am finding it difficult to use all 1800 calories each day. I eat a meal and am satisfied and don't see any need to eat just to make up RDI. There is still the struggle of wanting to finish what my kids leave so that it won't go to waste especially if it's something that I really enjoy like bacon. I haven't given in so far but the desire is great. I need to break this habit.

If you're trying to loose fat I would stick to less than 1,450 if your under 5'3. If not, then 1,650 should be the max but 1,800 is for maintaining not loosing fat. :)

That's awesome that you feel satisfied with less than your calorie restriction, the fewer calories you consume the larger the deficit you create, the faster you lose weight. I'd suggest getting rid of leftovers as quickly as possible as to not give yourself time to be tempted.

sexylilbrunette, "Fat Secret" said that my RDI should be 2300 for 1 lb. per week. I felt that was too much so I've already taken it down to 1800. I thought that was a significant decrease. I am becoming confused as another member said, "At your current weight though, it is better to eat at the high end of the caloric range. As you lose weight, you will need to reduce calories to keep losing. If you cut them too much now, you might get stuck as time goes on." Any suggestions?
